Why we invested in Opacity
Opacity recently announced their seed funding round, led by Archetype and Breyer Capital, with additional backing from North Island Ventures, EV3, and others. We're thrilled to be part of this investment round.
Opacity simplifies secure online data sharing through multi-party computation (MPC) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) verification. While TLS works well for two-party interactions, it’s less effective when third parties are involved. Opacity addresses this, allowing individuals to securely share their information with third parties while maintaining privacy.
Why we invested in Predicate
Predicate today announced it has raised $7M to build the first network for transaction prerequisites. We are a proud investor, having participated in Predicate's Pre-Seed round in November 2023.
What does Predicate do? In a nutshell, Predicate allows users, application developers, and communities to set their own customizable rules – or policies – for onchain interactions. Just as stablecoins have created a critical linkage between decentralized finance and traditional finance in the form of a common monetary denominator, Predicate enables the pre-transaction rules necessary to scale blockchain technology into the mainstream economy.

It’s been remarkable to see Zach’s vision and tenacity define an entirely new category of financial services, with over $5 billion in annualized payment volume processed to date. I’d like to share a few excerpts from our February 2023 investment memo about why we decided to invest
